Job Summary

Enerspace Coworking is where the passionate go to do their best work. We believe in designing work spaces that add to our members’ happiness and productivity. By the year 2025, 40% of the workforce will be independent. They might work for startups or for big companies, but they will be free to choose their place of work. Sometimes that will be in coffee shops, sometimes at home in their jammies, sometimes at spaces that give them the right balance of community and productivity such as Coworking spaces. At Enerspace, our goal is to be the work space of choice for those that want more out of their place to work than just a cool desk and fast WiFi.

We are hiring for the position of Community Manager/Marketing Manager at Enerspace Coworking in Palo Alto.

You love people. You get every cab driver’s story and you have a natural inclination to make sure people are comfortable wherever you are – you want your friends to have the best table at the restaurant, make sure the new kid at the party gets introduced, you’re a connector. You always kept your room clean when you were growing up even without being told to. You do not need a flask in your desk drawer to handle periodic complaints about the temperature and the printer. You love the idea of managing your own business and wearing all the hats that go along with that.

The Nitty Gritty:

The Community Manager helps to market and to run the coworking space.

You wear a lot of hats .

Hostess: You make sure every member feels cared for and connected to you and the other members of the space. This includes making sure they have clean/organized work space to hosting member events to knowing what each member does for work and for fun and making connections among the members. You make coffee, you make sure there’s always an abundance of coffee mugs. You listen for ways to delight members. They mention how great it would be to have tongs for the grill in our atrium. You order them. You are charming but tactful and firm when you need to be.

Business Development/Marketing: You help market the space through social media (twitter, facebook, newsletters) and occasionally attending networking events. You give amazing tours and follow our sales process to get the right people into the space and keep it at capacity.

Member On-boarding: You get members signed up in our system, on all the right email lists and connected to the Internet and printer. And you make sure they know and follow the house rules!

Connector: You connect members to each other and you connect members to resources that they need to be successful in their business.

The Concierge: You tell people where to go for lunch, for the best afternoon walk and the best car wash.


√ You love people – talking with them, listening, connecting them.

√ Technology savvy – not afraid to help someone get set up on the printer. Can post to Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and can learn basics of Mailchimp and WordPress.

√ Most of our members are Mac users and your laptop will be, so best if you already know how to use one.

√ Commit to hosting member events – lunch and learns, happy hours, etc.

√ Great communicator – members not only feel comfortable talking to you but WANT to chat with you each day.

√ You embrace taking ownership of the space but are excited to be a part of a larger team at Pacific Workplaces.

Hours are 8:30 to 5 pm with a break for lunch. Benefits available. 2 weeks of vacation + paid holidays.
